Day 286

Following Jesus means learning to live – whatever the circumstances, because we have eternity in view. This life, with all its joys, sorrows and disappointments, is not the end of our story. God has promised us a future beyond this world, and that promise should shape how we live today.

Day 284

Following Jesus means learning to stand for truth – especially when doing so is uncomfortable or costly. We all know that remaining silent seems easier than risking criticism, disagreement or rejection. Yet becoming like Jesus means recognising when truth needs to be spoken and when injustice must not be ignored.

Day 283

Following Jesus means learning not only to live differently, but also to have the courage to tell others why. Sharing our faith doesn’t mean ‘having all the answers’ or ‘being able to explain everything about Christianity.’ It simply means being willing to tell people what Jesus has done in our lives.

Day 281

Following Jesus means learning to become generous with what God has entrusted to us. Generosity is not simply about giving money. It is about recognising that everything we have — our time, abilities, possessions, opportunities and resources — ultimately comes from God.

Day 280

Following Jesus means learning not only to ask God for healing, but also to receive what He wants to give us. Sometimes we can believe that God is able to heal others – yet struggle to believe that His healing could be for us. We may feel unworthy, uncertain, or afraid to hope.

Day 279

Following Jesus means learning to love people who have hurt us. This is one of the hardest things Jesus asks of us, because when someone has wounded us, our natural response is often to protect ourselves, hold on to resentment, or hope that they will experience the same pain they caused us.

Day 277

Following Jesus means learning to live with gratitude – not only when life is going well, but also when circumstances are difficult. Gratitude does not mean pretending that everything is going great. It means choosing to recognise that God is still good, even when life is not.

Day 276

Following Jesus does not mean that life will always be easy. There will be times when we experience disappointment, loss, rejection, illness, uncertainty, or circumstances that we simply cannot understand. Suffering is never something we would choose for ourselves, but God can use even the most difficult experiences to deepen our faith and shape our character.

Day 275

Following Jesus does not mean that we will never become discouraged. There will be seasons when life feels harder than we expected, when prayers seem unanswered, progress seems slow and the future feels uncertain, and in those times, even the faithful can become weary.
