(Ephesians 6:10) "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

The above Scripture cannot be dismissed as ineffectual in 2025. It would be as silly as saying that the Holy Spirit no longer works through his people here. So, how many of you stand against the darkness that would flood your and your family's lives at the first opportunity?

For example, I helped a neighbour dig a trench and cement some posts this morning. There was dust everywhere, and some got into my eyes. Did I go back and fetch my goggles? No! (Truthfully - I couldn't be bothered.) We were working with rough implements that gouged and cut into flesh. Did I go back and fetch my gloves? No! (Truthfully - I couldn't be bothered.)

Jesus gave us explicit instructions on dealing with the devil (Matthew 4:1). These have been encapsulated in James 4:7. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

(1) Submit - is GOD-ward

(2) Resist - is satan-ward

One comes before the other, and you can't reverse the order! A Christian who resists the devil must do so in the Spirit and with and by the Word of God. Just like Jesus did. (Matthew 4:1)

GOD, who created all our hearts, says, “Come to Me, my dear Child, and I will show you how to break free and live! Do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.” 🥰
