(Luke 11:2) [Jesus speaking], ”When you pray, say: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done [held holy and revered] on earth as it is in heaven. Give us daily our bread [food for tomorrow]. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us [who has offended us or done us wrong]. And bring us not into temptation but rescue us from evil."

So I'm walking the dog early this morning. The sun is rising golden and beautiful on the horizon, the birds are singing, everything is alive, and I am happily praying. At some point, though, the thought comes to my head that I wasn't really praying (communing); my prayers were actually boring me (never mind the Lord). It felt as though I was reciting a shopping list!

I stood still, apologised for my stupidity and presumption and said. "Holy Father, who is on Your heart right now that you want me to pray for?" Milliseconds later, I started getting people He wanted me to pray for.

Still thinking of this, when I got home, I read the story of a missionary to Africa. Apparently, the natives he lived amongst were astounded that he couldn't hear either the sounds of nature or even the song of the stars!

Child of the Living GOD, I know that we have the Holy Spirit in us to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). And Psalm 98:4 tells us that ALL the earth sings for joy and sings praises! "Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!"

GOD, who created all our hearts, says, “Come to Me, my dear Child, and I will show you how to break free and live! Do your part and trust in Me enough to honour Me.” 

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those who are sick amongst us—Baby Owen, Baby Pasley, Louise, Betty, Maria, Lorenzo, Matteo, Romeo, Sebastian, Nathaniel, Marissa, Ron, Amy, Franca, Daniela, Kristina, Paul, Roger, Alastair, Ian, Alex, Alexander, Lynette, James, Keiron, Samantha, Jay, Liliana, Maria, Susanna, and those you bring to our minds right now… Please grant your healing power to those who minister to all the sick among us so they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
