Part 3: WE MAY LET GO... BUT GOD NEVER WILL — 2. Loving Christian Community (evidence of God’s work through relationships)
Some time ago, friends at the Way of the Spirit invited my wife and me to bring a word at their local church. As soon as we arrived, I noticed a totally worn-out, forlorn-looking man pacing about, doing his best to soothe a very young baby he held in his arms.
He seemed to be on his own, and the little one wouldn’t stop crying no matter who offered to help. At the end of the service, I made a beeline for him. My wife, instead, headed in the opposite direction, straight for a lady tucked away at the back. After speaking with the distraught man, I saw my wife hugging the lady tightly. She told me later that she was speaking life and truth to her...
Long story short — we left the mother (we later learned she was the baby’s mother), clinging to the child, crying and kissing him as if her life depended on it.
We didn’t know what happened after we left, but a few days later, the vicar who had organised the meeting sent us this letter:
“You’ll never know how much you've blessed this family. After the birth, the poor mother couldn’t even bear to hold her child and retreated into herself. The father was clearly struggling with the ongoing trauma, and it genuinely looked as if their marriage might not survive. I don’t suppose we’ll ever really know what your wife said to her, but I can assure you that whatever it was brought forth a huge miracle. She is quite back to her old self and hasn’t stopped hugging and kissing her son since the moment you left. She is likewise totally reconciled with her beloved husband! All Glory to GOD!
PS. All of us here are still crying over this beautiful Miracle…"

Let’s pray, "Heavenly Father, please give me Your eyes and Your heart to be able to see what’s going on around me and please Holy Spirit, feed me Your Words and Wisdom in order to set the captives free..." Amen!
