(Joel 2:25) “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten…”

SERIES 9: RECEIVING FROM JESUS. 17. Receiving Restoration. (Allowing God to rebuild what has been damaged or lost.)

Following Jesus means learning to receive God’s restoration. This means allowing Him to rebuild what has been damaged, renew what has grown weary, and bring new life to areas of our lives that have suffered loss. We all experience seasons when things go wrong. Relationships become broken, opportunities disappear, confidence is damaged, and dreams we once held close seem to slip beyond our reach. Many (far too many) times we look back with regret, wondering how things might have been different.

His restoration may not always look like what we expected, but it can bring something deeper: renewed faith, greater wisdom, stronger character, and a closer relationship with Him.

But remember – God does not promise that everything lost will be returned in exactly the same way, or that every painful experience will be undone. But He does promise to remain faithful, to bring healing where there has been hurt, and to work in our lives even after difficult seasons.

We may need to forgive, let go of past mistakes, pray into rebuilding relationships – or even accept that some things cannot be recovered. That process can take time, but we do not have to face it alone.

Jesus came to bring life, hope and renewal. He meets us in our weakness and invites us to begin again. We should not assume that our best days are behind us simply because we have experienced loss or failure. God is still able to work in us, restore our hope and give us a renewed sense of purpose.

Today, bring the damaged and disappointing areas of your life to God. Allow Him to begin rebuilding what needs His healing touch. Trust His timing, receive His grace, and remember that even after a season of loss, new growth is possible.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father … I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread. (Psalm 37:25) “ Amen!
