(2 Corinthians 1:20) “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are all ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
SERIES 9: RECEIVING FROM JESUS. 18. Receiving God’s Promises. (Trusting what God has said – even when we cannot yet see the outcome.)
Following Jesus means learning to trust the promises of God, even when we cannot yet see how or when they will be fulfilled. Faith does not mean that we always understand what God is doing, or that circumstances will change as quickly as we would like. It means choosing to believe that God is faithful – even when the outcome remains uncertain.
There are times when God’s promises seem distant. We pray, but the answer does not come. We wait, but nothing appears to change. We may begin to wonder whether God has forgotten us or whether we have misunderstood what He has said. Yet God’s faithfulness is not measured by the speed of His response or by what we can see around us.
The Bible reminds us that God’s promises find their fulfilment in Jesus Christ. He is the assurance that God can be trusted. We may not know exactly how our circumstances will unfold – but we can know the character of the One who holds our future.
Receiving God’s promises means holding on to His Word rather than allowing fear, disappointment or impatience to shape our expectations. It means learning to wait with confidence, continue in obedience and remain faithful, even when we cannot see the next step.
We must also remember that God’s promises are not always fulfilled in the way we expect. His timing, His purposes and His understanding are greater than ours. Sometimes He changes our circumstances; sometimes He changes us as we wait.
Do not allow an unanswered prayer or a delayed outcome to make you doubt the faithfulness of God. His Word remains trustworthy, and His promises are secure in Christ.
Today, receive God’s promises with faith. Trust what He has said, remain patient as you wait, and remember that the God who made the promise is faithful to keep it.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, I can sincerely testify to Your promises being all ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20)” Amen!
