(Romans 15:13) “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
SERIES 9: RECEIVING FROM JESUS. 12. Receiving Hope (Allowing God to restore hope when circumstances seem hopeless.)
Following Jesus means learning to receive hope – even when hopeless circumstances arise against. Receiving hope means learning to trust God especially when we cannot see how things will improve. There are times when disappointment, loss, illness or uncertainty leave us struggling to believe that anything good can come from what we are experiencing. Our prayers may seem unanswered, our strength may be running out, and the future may appear dark – yet God has not abandoned us.
The Bible describes Him as the God of Hope. Our hope does not depend on everything going according to our plans, nor does it rest on our ability to predict what will happen next. It rests on God’s character, His faithfulness and His promises. Even when we cannot see a way forward, we can trust that He remains present and that our circumstances are never beyond His knowledge or care.
This means bringing our fears and disappointments honestly to God and allowing Him to strengthen us from within. Sometimes He changes our circumstances; at other times, He changes our perspective, gives us the courage to endure, or provides the next small step we need to take.
Jesus offers us this Hope that reaches beyond what we can presently see. He reminds us that suffering and disappointment do not have the final word. As we spend time in His presence, remember His faithfulness, and learn to trust Him, one day at a time, the hope that we’ve let die WILL begin to grow again.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, You don’t judge us for our lack of faith in You … instead, You remind us that “…all things work together for good for those who love the Lord. (Romans 8:28)” Amen!
