(Jesus praying for you) … I’m saying these things in the world’s hearing so my people can experience My joy completed in them. I gave them your word; The godless world hated them because of it, Because they didn’t join the world’s ways, Just as I didn’t join the world’s ways. I’m not asking that you take them out of the world But that you guard them from the Evil One. They are no more defined by the world Than I am defined by the world. Make them holy—consecrated—with the truth; Your word is consecrating truth. In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world. I’m consecrating myself for their sakes So they’ll be truth-consecrated in their mission. (‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭13).

Firstly, John's Gospel tells us that people were created specifically for a relationship with GOD, so eternal life comes from an eternal relationship with the eternal GOD. Accepting that truth, let's break down what Jesus prayed for us:

  1. Because we can approach the Throne of Grace anytime we have a need (Heb 4:16), we can experience the Joy of Jesus within us.
  2. Because we carry the Promise of GOD that "NO weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isa 54:17), we know we can be guarded from the evil one just as Jesus was
  3. That because it was GOD's will for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once and for all time (Heb 10:10), we can accept that we are made Holy—consecrated—with the truth; i.e. not defined by the world's systems, but established by GOD's Word of truth - a LIVING TRUTH - one that is ALIVE in us
  4. Because the Lord has said, "I will go with you, and I will give you victory." (Exo 33:14), we can receive (in order to perform) the mission that Jesus has given us.
  5. That we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Heb 13:6) we’ll be truth-consecrated in our individual missions.

The thing is ... we have no excuses because we know that our Father GOD answers ALL of Jesus’ prayers …!

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
