(Isaiah 9:11) "I am God, the only God you’ve had or ever will have—incomparable, irreplaceable—From the very beginning telling you what the ending will be, All along letting you in on what is going to happen, Assuring you, ‘I’m in this for the long haul..."
This series explores how God speaks to us. Part 21: PROVIDENCE — God’s Care/ Governance
God’s providence is the idea that God is attentive to the world and steering it toward a good purpose. It doesn’t mean God controls every tiny detail like a puppet master, but that God cares for creation, keeps it going, and can work through people, events, and even mistakes to bring about meaning.
EVERYTHING is under His Power and Governance... For example, just before His betrayal by Judas (John 13:21), Jesus was troubled and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” The disciples were obviously shocked, and Jesus finally told John that the one who would betray Him was the one to whom He would pass the bread—Judas! (v.27) "Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.”
Jesus wasn't talking to Judas when He said, “What you are going to do, do quickly.” He was talking to Satan, who was possessing Judas! Satan wasn't working out his own clever plan against Jesus! Just as in the book of Job, God had already organised everything, and God (in Christ—in-the-flesh) was giving Satan permission to betray God (in Christ—in-the-flesh)!
There is no 'oops' in Heaven ... it was with God's full knowledge and agreement that Jesus took the punishment 'we' deserved, so we could be forgiven and get the new life and relationship with God He offers—received by faith, not by our own effort.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, your Word warns when we turn from you and rely on our own strength. Like Isaiah’s warning, help us see where we’ve rejected your refining fire and trusted ourselves, or the wrong counsellors. Holy Spirit, bring conviction without crushing us; give us humility to repent, wisdom to follow your ways, and courage to let you lead. Refine our hearts, protect us from the harms that come from sin, and restore our trust in you." Amen!
