(Psalm 72:13) “He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy. From oppression and violence he redeems their life, and precious is their blood in his sight.”

Consequences of a [Supernatural] relationship with the Holy Spirit. (4)

(Continuing on from yesterday’s message)... Priorities of work took over, and the manager and I didn’t speak again until the following day when she sheepishly came over to my desk and plopped a cup of my usual latte in front of me. I looked up in surprise, and my jaw dropped as she began casually talking to me (she'd NEVER spoken to me before outside of company matters)!

Here's her story: “By the time I’d gotten home last night, I’d pretty much forgotten what happened yesterday afternoon with the tangerine. My husband asked what diabolical pleasures I’d bestowed on you [my incumbent Christian] when there was a knock on the door. Our next-door neighbour (another born-again nuisance) asked if she could leave some plants with us for a week while she went on holiday. When she’d gone and roaring with laughter, we began immediately plotting how we’d kill them before she returned.

We were due out that evening to a friend’s party, so I ran upstairs to have a bath. I remember slipping on the tiled floor, and somehow, my body twisted in mid-air, and I cracked my spine onto the side of the tub! I lay there on the bathroom floor, dazed and entirely paralysed from the neck down, and that’s how my husband found me some while later.

Taking in the seriousness of my predicament, he rushed downstairs to call for an ambulance, and when he came back up, he heard me screaming for “Jesus to forgive me and come and help me!”

She stopped at this point, and it was only when I saw somebody passing her a tissue that I noticed she was crying. I also took in a crowd of people who had somehow materialised around my desk as she told her tale.

“My husband will tell you that he was trying to comfort me before the ambulance arrived when we both heard a terrific ‘crack’! The next thing I remember was standing on my two feet, feeling perfectly well again. I don’t know what Jesus had done, but whatever it was left us both amazed…!”

As the tears subsided and the crowd dissipated, a senior accounts clerk rolled his chair forward and said to us all, “Jesus... You want to know about Jesus? Then let me tell you about how my damaged son and I met Jesus…” (To be continued …)

Holy Spirit, please touch the heart of whoever is reading this. Draw them into your heart and show them that You continue to speak and answer prayers today. Amen. ❤️
