(Matthew 23:1–12 (and especially vv. 25–28) Jesus exposes religious hypocrisy: outward humility or righteousness that hides inner pride.

Part 4: RECURRING TACTICS THE TEMPTER USES — 4. False humility (hiding pride behind a mask of humility)

What is oppressing you—illness, debt, fear, shame? Every dark way must be brought into the light; every wrong set right; every proud heart humbled. Every deception will be exposed and replaced by truth, so the Life of God can be seen everywhere (Luke 3:5).

When the disciples asked who is greatest in the kingdom, Jesus placed a child among them and said: unless you dramatically change your thinking and become teachable—wide‑eyed, humble like a child—you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 18).

True greatness is not status but broken, teachable dependence. That means unlearning all the world’s survival tricks—lying, bargaining, conniving—which masquerade as wisdom but lead to death.

Trust the Lord completely; do not lean on your own understanding. With all your heart rely on Him and He will guide your steps (Proverbs 3:5). Humble dependence unlocks God’s beauty and victory: He adorns the meek and crowns His lovers with triumph, and their praise—real, thankful praise—is a weapon that brings light into darkness, binds opposing powers, and enacts His justice (Psalm 149:4).
“Come out from among them and be holy” (2 Corinthians 6:17) — stop hiding behind humble words, leave the world’s survival tricks, and live separately for God. Let your surrendered praise break the strongholds; open your heart and praise, and watch God move.
