In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings that Jesus left us to follow. The sixth commandment leads us to our next focus: OBEYING HIS COMMANDS ...
(Psalm 65:1) "Silence is praise to you, Zion-dwelling God, and also obedience. You hear the prayer in it all."
I struggled to pray with others at first. To be honest, I felt intimidated by their spontaneous eloquence. Praying spontaneously can be tricky for many of us. Some people seem to have a natural flow, as if the words are imprinted in their minds (or on the inside of their eyelids)! It’s impressive how they manage to remember the details of every request, while I often find myself grappling to recall even the names or situations I’m meant to pray for... how do they do it so effortlessly?
Initially, I spent time with these skilled prayer warriors, hoping to learn their techniques and insights. Despite my efforts, I didn't make much progress. I also immersed myself in numerous self-help books and tapes, aiming to strengthen my connection with GOD and emulate their prayer style. Yet, when I was alone, I often found myself reverting to the simple, heartfelt plea, “Lord, You alone know my heart, please help me!”
If you're gifted in obedient prayer, then Praise GOD for His Gift! If not, then take courage, because GOD, who created every heart, says, “Stop stressing and walk with Me. I hear the intent of your heart and know all your needs. My love and Holy Spirit will guide you through – just obey what He says, then trust in Me enough to honour Me.” ❤️

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, help me to obey You and resist the urge to want to be like everyone else. Grant me the strength to embrace my uniqueness and the courage to stand confidently in the path You have given me. Help me to see the value in my individuality and to resist the urge to compare myself to others. Guide me in shedding feelings of intimidation, and fill me with self-acceptance and peace as I walk with You." Amen!
