(Matthew 5:43) "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

How do you disable a dangerous device? Cut off its power source! This morning, I found myself caught up in a series of hate speeches on Facebook and was shocked by the venomous negativity (coming from both sides). I entered my prayer time feeling quite lost, and it took a while to calm down enough to hear the Lord's guidance.

I genuinely believe that when hatred spreads, people (on both sides) are being used by negative forces that want to control them; they are being manipulated by influences beyond their control.

NB - Jesus tells us not to seek revenge against these individuals, as they are clearly being manipulated. Instead, we should approach them with compassion and understanding because many are struggling with their own issues. Rather, by offering empathy, prayer, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, we can address the root causes of their behaviour.

Anyway, Scripture is full of examples of how Jesus dealt with hatred, so let's take a look at some of them over the next few days... (please feel free to submit examples yourself as you did before with the angelic visitations).

  1. **Modelling Compassion**: Each of Jesus's interactions was a testament to his belief that no one is beyond redemption and that love can heal even the deepest wounds. He radiated compassion to those who were marginalised and despised by society—sinners, outcasts, and the downtrodden. His heart was open to everyone, demonstrating that genuine love has the incredible power to break down all the barriers of hate and division.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me, even when I was your enemy. Help me, Lord, to 'tune out' from all the propaganda. I ask you to help me love my enemies as You love me. Please pour Your Grace into my heart so I can forgive those who hurt me and those I care about, and pray sincerely for them. GOD, I pray that you would show them mercy, and that they may come to know your goodness and love as I have. Help me to grow in love and become more like You, my perfect Father." Amen!
