I have met many people who say that they don’t believe they have ever received the Holy Spirit. Here are just ‘some’ of the reasons they gave:

Time passed, my appointment with the specialist came around, and I told the doctor I no longer needed medication, because I was convinced Jesus had healed me. He smiled politely and put me down for a course of Interferon treatments. At the end of the treatment, they took blood tests and gave me a piece of paper stating: HEP C VIRUS NOT DETECTED!

On a personal note, watching our children tackle their homework was torture for me. My wife would passionately insist, “Leave them alone. They must learn by doing … if you do it for them, they’ll miss the lesson!” The profound, heart-tugging frustration I experienced, especially when their pleading eyes sought mine, was truly overwhelming. But she was right – and my interference would have been wrong on every level!

NB – Anyone who’s ever tried to “go and do likewise” without the Holy Spirit, quickly realises that in order to fulfil Jesus’s command we MUST involve the Holy Spirit in everything!
