Part 5: THE MAGNIFICENCE OF GOD AND HIS DEITY - 7. God's Omnipotence (God’s power to create, sustain, heal and redeem; miracles and providence).
There’s a kind of Power that makes you stop and stare: a storm, a seed actually breaking through concrete, a broken and seemingly worthless life turned the right way up by God's loving kindness. God’s Omnipotence is that deep, loving power: the power to create, hold, heal, and redeem. It isn’t force for fear; it’s strength for good.
God the Creator: Everything around you exists because God spoke it into being: stars, oceans, birds, and you. Creation isn’t random; it’s made by Someone who cares. When you notice a sunset or your own heartbeat, you’re witnessing God’s creative touch.
God Who Sustains: God didn’t just start the world, get fed up and walk away. He keeps it going: the air you breathe, the seasons, the friends who show up when you need something. That steady care means you’re never alone, even when life feels dismal and shaky.
God Who Heals and Redeems: God’s power heals: sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly through people and time. Redemption is God turning broken things into something new. This brings real hope: no mistake or hurt is too big for God to use for good (Romans 8:28).
Miracles and Providence: Miracles are surprising moments when God’s power breaks through in wonderful, obvious ways. Providence is quieter: God arranging small details for our good. Both show that God is involved in the big and tiny parts of life. How to live with this truth:
- Wonder more: slow down and notice God in nature and everyday life.
- Hold hope: open your heart to believe God can mend what’s broken.
- Pray simply and boldly: turn to Him and tell God big things as well as small things.
- Love bravely: forgive, be kind, take risks for good.
- Trust: trust God’s steady hand in work, study, friendships, and fears.
Try this: each morning this week, say one worry and one thank-you to God in one sentence. Watch how knowing God’s power changes your heart: calming fears, fuelling courage, and helping you love.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank You for calming my fears and helping me believe that I can do all things (well) through Christ who strengthens me. I thank You, that despite what my body says, or my bank, or my doctors, my life and all those You've given me are well and held safely in Your loving hands." Amen!
