(John 3:3) Jesus said, “…Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.”
Part 3: WE MAY LET GO... BUT GOD NEVER WILL — 8. Baptism (public washing/mark of union with Christ, cleansing from sin, and entry into the church)
“How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?”
Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.” (John 3:3)
NB - Many of us have our own ideas about what being born again means, but most of them don't align with Jesus' teaching. Be honest with yourself now … whether you’ve heard this teaching before (and just let it drift in and then out of your head), or whether you’ve heard it all before but never let it change you. Are you content to simply know about Jesus, or will you be born again and allow the Spirit to renew you?

Let’s pray. "Heavenly Father, I read this, and my heart confirms I need to be born again, again, again.... Forgive me for the (oh so many) times that I don't allow the Holy Spirit to take over and renew me. Please give me new life in Christ. I want to wholly trust Jesus as my Saviour and Lord." Amen!
