(Philippians 4:13) “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Quick pause — A long time ago, I attended a prayer group, and a woman shared a vision she’d had. She told us that she saw Jesus walking toward three women seated in three chairs.

When he reached the first woman, she burst into hysterical tears. She jumped up, clung to Jesus, and sobbed uncontrollably. He held her for what felt like an eternity, speaking words of comfort until she calmed, then walked on.

At the second chair, he gently squeezed the woman’s shoulder and smiled. She looked up with love and returned the smile. He stayed only briefly and then continued.

He passed by the third woman without stopping.

The woman who had been following Him was shocked and, when she caught up, asked, “What has she done wrong for you to ignore her like that?” Jesus replied, “Child of Mine, you have everything mixed up. The first woman needs my help daily and will fall apart without constant support. The second needs only occasional encouragement to get on with what I’ve given her. The third needs no encouragement at all; she simply gets on with whatever I’ve given her to do.”

Conclusion: Some believers need continual reassurance, some only occasional encouragement, and some faithfully obey without needing prompting. Which chair are you currently sitting in?

Let’s pray, "Heavenly Father, I know that I jump from chair to chair, please help me to trust You so that I can be at peace in Your work." Amen!
