(Exodus 15:26) “I am the Lord, your healer.”

This series is about how GOD is believed to communicate with us all. This next part is through (15) PERSEVERANCE (endurance)—Perseverance is deciding to stick with GOD even (especially) when life gets real — choosing faith over quitting in the middle of pain, delay, or confusion until real growth shows up.

TESTIMONYcontinued from yesterday ... Another man spun his office chair over to my desk and said, “Let me tell you how my friend was healed. He was born with polio — one leg was shrunken, he couldn’t wear both shoes, and he only got around on crutches. This is his story…
"We all knew him from the local bar. He used to be there most nights, but over time, he started looking really unwell and then began to disappear. We didn’t see him all summer and autumn, and we missed him.
One winter night, it was really cold, and we all huddled around the fire. He walked in. No crutches. Healthy-looking. Walking normally on two feet. Everyone was stunned.
He told us what happened. For months, he’d been getting worse — fever, constant fatigue, headaches, vomiting. He was bedridden: a stiff neck and terrible limb pain. His sister, a practising Christian, came down to care for him. Her constant worshipping and love helped.
One afternoon, she came home from church and said the vicar (Colin Urquhart) wanted to see him. She bundled him into the car, and they went. They sat in the vicar’s front room, had tea, and the vicar spoke about Jesus: His love, His death and resurrection, and His power to heal today. He asked if he could pray for him.
He doesn’t remember much after that, except a buzzing, electric sensation through his body. He remembers his sister pulling his other shoe from her bag and setting it on the floor. When he looked down, he saw two normal legs and two normal feet. It took a moment to register, then the room erupted in hugs and tears. When the vicar asked if he wanted to receive Jesus into his life, of course, he said yes.
It was winter, and his sister wanted to drive him home, but he asked her to go on without him. He wanted to walk back and talk with his new friend, Jesus. (Warren)

Footnote — That same morning, up on the fifth floor of one of the UK’s largest Telcos, a number of people gathered to hear these stories of Hope in Jesus. I didn’t stage any of it; I simply chose to obey when I felt prompted to give someone — who had once tormented me — a tangerine. If you’re reading this and struggling with someone who hurts you, consider the power of small, obedient acts. They don’t erase the pain, but they can open the door to healing, grace, and unexpected restoration. Even small acts of grace have surprising consequences!

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, You alone are the Lord who heals. I come to You now, trusting Your promise in Exodus 15:26. Touch me, Lord. Touch my body, soothe my mind, and restore what is broken. Give wisdom to those who love and care for me, patience and strength to walk this road, and peace that surpasses understanding. Let Your healing flow — in ways I see and in ways I do not yet understand — so I may serve You with renewed life and gratitude.” Amen!
