(Hebrews 6:19) "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."

This series is about how GOD is believed to communicate with us all. This next part is through (12) HOPE: Not wishful thinking: Hope is trust, not uncertainty.

NB - A Scriptural hope is a confident, trust-filled expectation grounded in who GOD is and in His promises to us revealed in Scripture—not mere wishful thinking. It rests on GOD’s character (Faithfulness, Power, Love) and the sure work of Jesus, our Christ. So it endures difficulties and looks forward to GOD’s ultimate fulfilment.

TESTIMONY"In the late 1970s, our daughter, who was about 18 months old, became unwell with a bad cough. We took her to the doctor, and he said, "It's nothing serious, it will go away. Well, it got worse, and she was very unwell. We called the doctor again, and he arrived quite angry and said the same, but this time I wasn’t listening. During the day, my wife, Trisha, was praying, asking the Lord what was wrong. She took our medical book, opened it at random, and the page opened to Meningitis! I called another doctor, who came and said, "Take her to the hospital now. I will meet you there." They took fluid, and a motorcycle courier rushed it to the main hospital for urgent tests. Hours passed, and then they confirmed it was Meningitis. The next day was horrible. We went and saw her lying and secured to the bed with most of her beautiful hair gone and pipes and cables attached. A couple of days passed, and she was no better. They said it was very bad, and she may not survive, and if she did, she would almost certainly have brain damage and possibly even limb damage! Later that night, when we got home, we sat on our bed and prayed. We spiritually had her in our arms and handed her up to the Lord, saying, "We have hope that You can do anything! We give her to you, please give her back to us." Early the next day, we arrived back at the hospital to be greeted by the doctor, who said we didn’t know what happened during the night, but her vital signs, which were very bad and hadn’t moved for three days, suddenly dropped and returned to almost normal! After that incredible news, the staff started calling her their miracle baby! After a few more days, she fully recovered with no damage anywhere. She is herself a mother now, and along with her family, she is serving the Lord with all her heart, and we are still thanking Jesus with tears in our eyes and wonder in our hearts." (John Smith x)

Scriptural Hope in Jesus—is a confident, trust-based expectation grounded in who Jesus is and what GOD has promised in Christ. It is not mere wishful thinking but a firm assurance that GOD will fulfill his redemptive promises through Jesus.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, you are my firm and secure anchor. When storms of doubt, fear, or sorrow toss my heart, steady me on your Promise. Plant my hope deep in Christ, so I will not drift, strengthen my trust when waves rise, and teach me to rest in your faithfulness. Keep my soul anchored in your love until I stand safely in your presence.” Amen!
