(Psalm 119:105) “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."
- Scripture: The Bible is considered the primary source of GOD's Word and guidance.
Aim: The purpose is to inspire you to absorb GOD's Word—not just read it as a book—but to treat it as a source of spiritual nourishment, offering a continuous stream of meaningful engagement within the ever-evolving life it holds. As you delve deeper, your Bible will transform into a personal diary of your spiritual experiences, with passages highlighted that speak to you during different life moments, struggles, or realisations.
Another example: "I remember it being a cold and gloomy Wednesday night as I returned home from a prayer meeting at the College. The house seemed a lot quieter than usual. I called out my wife’s name, and she didn’t respond. Thinking that she must be with one of the children, I crept upstairs and couldn’t find her. On my way back downstairs, I noticed the bathroom door slightly open. I pushed on it, but it wouldn’t open. I continued pushing until it opened enough for me to stick my head in and saw her lying on the floor unconscious, surrounded by an ever-increasing pool of blood! We ended up in the hospital for over a week while they performed an exhaustive series of dreadful tests on her. She'd lost a terrific amount of blood and kept drifting in and out of consciousness. We were praying, the Church was praying, the Senior Pastor and his wife came and prayed for her – at which point my wife ‘heard the words, “The Healing Balm of Gilead.” (Jer 46:11). NB - I asked her just now if she ever remembered the event and she smiled and said, “Of course I do. I was really frightened, and then I heard the Lord really clearly.” I asked her to remind me, and she told me, “Everyone around me seemed so worried, and all I could think of was ‘who will look after my children…?’ When, quite suddenly, Judges 6:23 came into my head. I had no idea what the Scripture referred to, so I opened my Bible and read, “…Peace be to you, do not fear; you shall not die.” No matter what I was feeling inwardly, I held onto the Lord and His beautiful Promise to me for dear life, and when the tests finally came back as negative, my faith rose, and I thanked Him all the more.”
As we were leaving the hospital, one of the nurses told us, “We know there has been a considerable trauma and substantial loss of blood, but we just can’t see where it all came from. Even the diagnostic tests, which can normally detect ruptures, tears and lesions, haven’t found anything - I don’t know if you believe in miracles, but I’d say that this is most certainly one!” (W)
