(Matthew 28:19) [Jesus speaking] "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings that Jesus left us to follow. The fifth commandment leads us to our next focus: BAPTISM ... Let's read a few of your testimonies before we move on to the next commandment...

"I finally received peace. True peace, a peace I now realise the world could never give. I received hope in impossible situations and a powerful Joy in celebrating even the little things. I stop often and make the effort to recognise all the blessings that our loving Father has done for us." Diane xxx

"I was baptised as an 11-year-old. Having been told “no” by my minister and my dad, saying that I was “too young”, and that I should wait until I was at least 16, because “The teenage years are hard”. But I knew my mind (inside my 4’5” body)!!! And my Spirit had met with God. But I still had no choice but to wait because the two men in charge refused. Forget gender, forget age, two people had power over my decision to be baptised. And that’s why I continue to pioneer for those who can’t speak out …. I believe Jesus will always want me to challenge injustice." Jo xxx

"I can truly say that after receiving the Holy Spirit, there's a total, indescribable supernatural change. Everything that once seemed OK is suddenly transformed into something detestable! Where we once felt alright about doing whatever we wanted, we now realise how bad it was, and all because God has transformed us into His new creatures! The Holy Spirit changes us completely. The enemy can't tempt us much because he fears the protection of Jesus in us. We must never let our guard down, though, as we remain targets of the enemy, even more so. But God knows and protects us with His Holy Spirit! A big hug," Franca xxx

"When I finally came to understand 'Who Christ is', then I asked him to give me all that he had in store for me. One day, I asked Jan, the sister who led me to Christ, if I could visit her that afternoon. She said she had an appointment with someone to pray over for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. As my life was so taken up with this life in Christ, I was curious to see what I could add to what I had already received, so I asked her if I could be there. I said I would be sitting in a corner of the room and watch. And so, while I'm quietly sitting and watching, a sense of need to kneel came upon me. It was while Jan prayed for the woman that I was filled with the Spirit, spoke in tongues, and felt the power of being renewed and made whole. In the letter to the Romans chapter 8, Paul gives an ample explanation about the Holy Spirit, vv 14 -16. When we are "Born Again", we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 1:13-14. Sealed unto redemption, by having received the forgiveness of sins. Hallelujah, the enemy cannot touch me. To be filled means to be baptised with the Holy Spirit. Only then are we equipped to go and make disciples of all nations." Carmelina 🙏

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, I thank You that I have been given a new identity in Christ and that You have made me a new creation. I ask for the transformation of Baptism into Jesus, so that I may become more like Him. Help me to seek to let go of past mistakes and embrace His forgiveness. Help me to trust in Your truth and wisdom, and Your perfecting work for a future filled with Your freedom and grace." Amen!
