(Luke 13:3) [Jesus speaking] "...unless you repent, you too will all perish."

In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings Jesus left us. The third commandment leads us to our next focus: REPENTANCE ... ever a problematic subject.

In Luke 15:11, Jesus tells the Parable of the Prodigal Son, which is about a young man who asks his father for his share of the inheritance early so he can leave home and enjoy himself. The story tells us that he wastes all his money on a wild lifestyle and, when he ends up broke, friendless, and desperate, decides to return home, hoping to be accepted even as a servant.
To his surprise, his father sees him and, running to him, welcomes him back with open arms, throwing a big celebration.
This act of forgiveness and love highlights the father's joy at having his lost son back home.
Meanwhile, the older brother, who stayed home and worked hard, feels upset about the celebration. The father explains that his brother's return is worth celebrating - emphasising forgiveness and unconditional love.

Jesus stressed that when you apologise, it should come from a genuine place in your heart, because, for Him, true repentance isn't just about saying the right words or following rituals. It's about recognising your mistakes, asking the Holy Spirit for help in avoiding them in the future, and seeing them as opportunities to grow. This kind of sincere change will fill your life with love and kindness, refresh your spirit and strengthen your connection with GOD. Hallelujah!

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, we come before You seeking forgiveness for our sins and selfish ways. We are grateful that it's only Your kindness that leads us to true repentance and that whenever we respond with an open heart, You lift us from sin and shame, granting us new life. Please help us to recognise the need for change, to repent, and turn from our sinful ways, living a transformed life.
Holy Spirit, guide us to be humble before the Father and lead us to total repentance. Heal us, change us, and strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit.
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your immense kindness and love. Amen!!
