(2 Peter 2:19) "For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.”
This next series is going to be hard for some of us, because it involves being enslaved ... and there are many types of slavery: e.g. **Addictions*. **Materialism**. **Approval**. **Fear and Anxiety**. **Power and Control**. **Negative habits**. And of course, **Pride**.
I'm just asking you, from my heart, for any testimonies you can share (NB: these can be totally anonymous if you'd like). Because I believe that GOD wants to bring out living examples of how these enslaving actions lead to a loss of freedom, and how Christ can — and does — set us free from them!
So... The Lord's question promoting this next series is, "Why do you allow yourselves to be enslaved, when there is complete freedom through the actions of My Son?" (Romans 6:16 - Galatians 5:1).
For me ... "I had the Royal Flush—the whole lot!!! Cigarettes, 60 per day, and as much Jack Daniel's whiskey as I could consume before falling over, were my preferred poison. Materialism on every level, technology, fast cars, great clothes, etc. I was totally Insecure, so I constantly sought Approval. As for Fear and Anxiety, I was a superstitious wreck! Power & Control —I got so bad that I had to try to control everything! Negative habits, I was riddled with negative speech, anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness... and, of course, Pride, a total lack of empathetic humility that led me into constant conflict with others.
Any of these dominant thoughts and actions will lead to a loss of freedom, and I believe that through our honesty, GOD will bring about a Spiritual awakening marked by repentance, transformation, renewed faith, unity, and a mission to share and serve, driven by a profound movement of His Spirit—in other words, a Revival.
A Revival is a powerful movement of GOD's Spirit, revitalising faith and bringing about the much-needed and prayed-for changes in society. How does it begin? WITH US! What does it entail ... HONESTY - both with the Lord AND with ourselves!

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, I come to You with the Holy Spirit's fingerprint on my heart and therefore a desire to be honest in all things. I confess that at times I find it easier to hide the truth, but I know that lies lead to broken trust and pain. Lord, please search my heart and reveal any hidden dishonesty, any lies I tell You, myself or others. Give me the courage to be transparent and vulnerable before You. Help me to speak the truth with a clear conscience and to live a life of integrity, reflecting Your character in my actions and words. Please give me the strength to be honest about my dishonesty, knowing that through Your grace and forgiveness, I can become a true Child of the Living GOD." Amen!
