(Isaiah 44:8) "Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.”
Here then is another powerful testimony of how our sister Rita overcame fear.
"I have been thinking about your topic and wondered why we so often live in fear. Having lived most of my youth and up to about my 40s with a huge fear problem (an inferiority complex), even as a Christian for quite a while. Even though scripture is full of words like 'do not fear' and 'do not be anxious about anything.' How God delivered me from that is too long to tell, but it came about through spending 2 days in activities where only positive feedback was allowed. These 2 days with people who did not know me opened my eyes to the truth about me: that I was lovable and that there were many good things in me that they recognised. The world changed for me. This has led me to understand that we only fear because we don't know or believe that we are unconditionally loved by Father, that He is a totally safe place, and that He truly provides everything we need. Scripture is full of these truths, 1 Corinthians 13 describes who God is for us, and in a myriad of other places. How come we choose to believe lies about ourselves rather than the wonderful truth that God says we are? When we choose to believe Him, fears start to disappear, just as they did in my experience with people affirming me. So how much more when we believe and live in the affirmations God shows us. Psalm 23 tells us all we need to know about that, too. Let's encourage one another to look at His love, dive right in, and thrive in and through His endless love and grace. Rita Xxxx

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, only You know my heart ... I acknowledge my fear and state herewith that I trust Your power to help me overcome it. I ask for Your guidance, wisdom, and a release from the anxiety You don't want me to have." Amen!
