(John 14:18) [Jesus speaking] "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.
Gerry George posted something this morning from God's Generals that is well worth reading. It also ties in beautifully with the above because "The Holy Spirit remains with (us) continually and will be in (us)."
I've taken a paragraph from the post he made as follows: A. J. Gordon, who spoke out forcefully on the scriptural proof for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a second and separate experience from salvation.
“It is as sinners that we accept Christ; but it is as sons that we accept the Holy Spirit,”
Gordon shared his views on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, saying, "We should avoid agreeing with the inconsistent viewpoint that claims water baptism from the apostolic era is mandatory, while treating the Baptism in the Spirit as something that is only relevant to the past."

Let's pray, "Holy Father, I need You in my life and ask now, in faith, for the baptism of your Holy Spirit. Fill me with your power, anoint me for service, and equip me to fulfil all your will. I receive this gift by faith, believing that you are faithful to your word. Thank you for your Holy Spirit." Amen!
