(1 Peter 2:24) "He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed..
The political situation right now reminds me of a time when my mother had suffered a terrible heart attack and couldn't operate her newsagent shop anymore while she recovered. As such, for a few years, I would go and stay there overnight, opening the shop around 4:30 am to take in deliveries and setting out the newspapers until the morning staff arrived around 7:30 am.
Anyway, I remember immersing myself into a horrible murder trial vividly portrayed each day through the daily papers. In fact, every day, it seemed to draw me ever further in. One day, I suffered such a severe migraine that I couldn’t even get out of bed!
NB - I was in my late 30s and had never had a headache before then, much less a migraine and couldn’t work it out!
I prayed and praised as best I could, and a few hours later, it just lifted, and I really thanked GOD for His Mercy.
Next day, same newspapers, same effect – migraine from hell …!
This time, the pain was so severe that my balance completely went. I managed to cry out to GOD through the pain and begged Him for help and release. As I lay there sobbing, a still, small voice began to whisper, "You willingly fill yourself with anger, judgment, and all sorts of negative thoughts; what did you think would happen?"
Now, as I observe the resurgence of this demonic force, I find myself being drawn back easily into the hydra's playground. GOD's Grace intervenes though, reminding me of the last time I let anger take hold and the consequences that followed: "You willingly fill yourself with anger, judgment, and all sorts of negative thoughts; what did you think would happen?"

Let's pray, "Lord, I ask that You guide me in moments of anger. Help me to manage my emotions with your grace and self-control, so that I may avoid sin. Please teach me to respond to frustrations in a way that reflects Your love and righteousness." Amen!
