(John 20:28) "Thomas answered Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, do you now believe? Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, and favoured by God] are they who did not see [Me] and yet believed [in Me].”
Popular idioms aside, if I truly had a pound for every time someone said that they wished they had the gift of seeing what I see in the Spirit, then I would genuinely have a lot of money.
If you've walked with Jesus for longer than a minute, you'll know that GOD undoubtedly distributes spiritual gifts in a way that best serves each individual's purpose. Having said that, we also know that LOVING KINDNESS is the all-powerful key that opens up everything anyway.
1 Peter 4:10) "Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything..."
Loving-Kindness shifts the emphasis from self-reflection and a focus on personal growth and development to that pointed out in (1 Corinthians 10:24): "We want to live well, but our foremost efforts should be to help others live well."
Let's pray together: "Lord, help me to live not for my own benefit, but for the good of others, as you have commanded. Please grant me the wisdom and strength to consider the needs and well-being of those around me, and to make choices that reflect this principle. Help me to see your love in others and to serve them with humility and generosity. May my actions be guided by your Holy Spirit, and may I always seek to build up and bless those I encounter, rather than only myself." Amen!
