(Psalm 71:1) "My God, free me from the grip of Wicked, from the clutch of Bad and Bully...”
Unusual one today. Most of us have either suffered from being bullied or have bullied. As such, this Scripture will undoubtedly produce an emotive response (that will need redeeming).
For me, the reminder of the events always comes through my memories! A smell, a noise, a scene, and up they come, horrible recollections surfacing unannounced from the depths of my heart.
The thing is, hatred (even of our ineptitude) has never solved anything. We know that only Jesus's Love conquers all. Whether mental, physical, or spiritual, our Redeemer Jesus’ solution is always the same: "Come to Me. Lay down your grievance at My feet, open up your broken heart to Me, and let me help you forgive."
Let us pray: “Heavenly Father, Jesus tells us that knowing the Truth will set us free! Lord, I want to be transformed by this Truth! Help me not to just look at the redeeming 'medicine' of Jesus (as it sits untouched) on the shelf of my heart, but to take Him boldly into myself so that I can be truly set free from every bully - even myself.” Amen! 🙏
