(Romans 3:24) “God did it for us… He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
When I first accepted this truth – that God had provided Jesus as our Saviour, something 'Holy' flowed into me, pushing all the ugliness out, and I was honestly the happiest guy on Earth! It was as if I’d just walked into Eden and left all my sinful tendencies back outside!
I never quite realised the importance of the second part of the Scripture, though: “And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.”
I knew that I’d somehow been ‘filled‘ (with His Holy Spirit), but my heart, mind and life weren't regenerated, and like water leaking through a sieve, I couldn’t contain what I wanted by my own efforts - what I needed!
Instead of actually understanding that I needed a 'relationship', (that I needed to be with Him ‘daily‘,) I became like a frantic addict, I just redoubled all my efforts to get back to that place of Peace and tranquility…! Boy, I failed spectacularly! In fact, the more I tried, the further away I got!
Now, the only effort I put into our relationship is to stay close to Him. To stay alert to His leading, listen to what He says, and respond accordingly.
Child of the Living GOD. Don't stress! Look again at the Cross. It's all about Him ... it's ALWAYS been about Him.

Let's pray, “Lord Jesus, thank you for your love and for dying on the cross for me. Your sacrifice was a testament to Your boundless love and grace. By giving Your life, You have freed me from the consequences of my sins and opened the door to eternal life. I am humbled and filled with gratitude for Your immense love and for the forgiveness you offer through Your death and resurrection. I ask that You continue to guide me and strengthen me as I walk in Your path. Amen."
