“God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.” (‭‭James 4:6)

When I was first introduced to Jesus, I remember the Priest teaching us that the devil doesn’t have to shout to get our attention - he only has to whisper!

He whispers because he knows that our natural inquisitiveness will work for him in that we will stop moving away from him but rather stop and turn back and ask, “What?”

And so he whispers his poison again, and we move even closer to him and say again, “What did you say?” And this cycle continues until, like the evil snake he is, we get so close that he easily latches onto us!

There are many places in the World today where the ignorant will try and protect themselves against evil by wearing charms against the evil eye - you may have seen them.

Well, child of the Living GOD, isn't it time that WE throw away some of the things we use daily to protect ourselves; fear, hatred, envy, jealousy, lust, anger, excuses, manipulation, and lies and accept that these things were all born of childish 'self-preservation' – which is after all the same as saying “I don’t need you GOD, I can look after myself” i.e. ‘pride!’

Don’t surrender to the devil - do instead what GOD says, “Surrender to GOD, stand up to the devil, resist him and he will flee from you!” (James 4:7)
