Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life. (Phil 4:6)

It's horrible how my mind sometimes works - I get so frustrated whenever I don't see GOD 'immediately' judge the wrongdoer by either sending down fire from Heaven or opening up the ground and swallowing them up ...!

Well, (as usual) I'd been carrying the burden of a terrible wrong for a while, and even though I'd mouthed some half-hearted prayers, the injustice of it all was slowly eating me up.

Then quite by accident, I saw a snip of a guy speaking of how his wife had gone to visit her parents, and as she entered, she noticed that they were extremely sullen about something, but they wouldn't say why. Walking into the lounge, she saw why - her brother lay on the sofa, stoned stupid on drugs ...! She plonked down next to him and started crying, "Oh Lord, what am I going to do with him...?"

She felt the Lord respond almost immediately, "Well, you can either try to carry this burden on your own, or you can give him to me to deal with."

She told her husband that Heaven's Peace and freedom came and enveloped her whole body as she gave her brother to the Lord, saying, "Then He's all yours, Lord, please help him."

Hearing this really freed me too, and so like her, I shouted up to the Heavenly Throne of Grace, "I'm sorry for trying to carry this heavy burden. This situation is too much for me to handle, Lord; please resolve it."

Scripture tells us that His Peace flows like a river - Child of the Living GOD, remember that GOD's river cannot be stopped! It simply finds a way to go around or over all obstacles. It just keeps flowing. So when you think of peace like a river, think of GOD's peace as something that, if we let it, can be continually flowing in our lives - despite our circumstances or the obstacles that may get in our path!
