… To you who trust him, he’s a Stone to be proud of, but to those who refuse to trust him, The stone the workmen threw out is now the chief foundation stone. For the untrusting, it’s a stone to trip over, a boulder blocking the way. They trip and fall because they refuse to obey, just as predicted.

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. (1 Peter‬ ‭2:4)

When we refuse to walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, we become our own gods. Even accepting that we can't see around the next corner—never mind tomorrow—we determine that relying upon our own initiative is a far better conclusion.

This behaviour does nothing but propel us along the modern-day rat race, unceasingly contending with an exhausting, repetitive, stressful lifestyle that leaves no time for relaxation or enjoyment.

Over time, we can throw out more excuses than a pregnant Nun and blame our demographic, our upbringing, our parents, or our schools… (but) the bottom line is written here: we trip and fall when we ‘refuse’ to (trust and) obey Jesus.

“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.” (Rev 2:11) ❤️
