God designed us to feel remorse over sin in order to produce repentance that leads to victory. (2 Cor 7:10)

But what 'is' sin? Where did the word come from, and how is it I am being judged by it?

Research tells me that the word 'sin' originates from the Old English term "syn", indicating the action of missing the mark, primarily in spear throwing but also in archery. It literally refers to hitting the target but missing the "gold" at the centre of the target.

When we 'sin', therefore, by missing the mark of living in a good and moral manner, we actually act against our own interests - falling short of our true potential, missing the mark of our highest self and best quality of life.

And we can’t whine, sulk or even pout at his choice of the mark either – because his Holy Spirit is IN us to help us to get there.

Child of the Living GOD, take aim again today in His Strength to achieve your true potential, and gain your highest self and the best quality of life. ❤️
