(Hebrews 6:19) "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."

This series is about how GOD is believed to communicate with us all. This next part is through (12) HOPE: Not wishful thinking: Hope is trust, not uncertainty.

1 Corinthians 13:13 names three cornerstones of Christian life — “faith, hope, and love” — of course, the greatest of these is love. However, here's Hope’s role in that dynamic trio:

  • Future posture: Hope looks forward to what GOD will bring (final salvation, resurrection, fulfilment of His promises). It’s the forward‑directed trust that orients the believer toward GOD’s coming good.
  • Bridge between faith and love: Faith grounds trust in Christ now; hope projects that trust into the future; love is the present, enduring expression of that trust. Hope links belief (what we accept as true) with action (how we love now because of what will be).
  • Sustainer in suffering: Hope supplies endurance and expectation when present circumstances and even faith are tested, enabling love to act sacrificially over time.
  • Directed Future: Whereas faith apprehends GOD’s reality and love embodies GOD’s character, hope keeps the community focused on GOD’s consummation, motivating persistence in love until the end.
  • Temporal status: In Paul’s logic, love is “greatest” because it is the enduring reality in the age to come; hope, by definition, anticipates what is not yet realised and so will be fulfilled when the promised future arrives.

Hope isn’t passive. It’s the bold, forward‑looking heartbeat that turns your faith into persistent, world‑changing love. Hope helps you live like the promised future is already calling you into action.

Let’s pray, “Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gifts of faith, hope, and love. Grow my faith to trust You wholly, even when I can’t see the road ahead. Ignite in me a hope that refuses to quit—anchored in Your promises, patient in suffering, bold in mission. Fill my heart with Your love so it overflows in how I live, forgive, serve, and fight for justice. Let love be my first response, my greatest witness, and the lasting mark of my life. Help me to live now for the promised future: loving like You, hoping like You, and walking by Your faith every day.” Amen!
