(Luke 22:19) "And He (Jesus) took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper, He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.”
In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings that Jesus left us to follow. The thirteenth commandment leads us to our next focus: COMMUNION.
Here's Part 2 of my wife's wonderful revelation with you...
"Communion is the participation within a Covenant. Participation alone is NOT Covenant remembrance. e.g. if you are in a courtroom and your sentence has been declared, but the Judge has declared you innocent, your debt has been paid, and the record against you has been expunged.
Communion is, therefore, the believer returning to the courtroom to enforce the verdict. It is the believer saying, “I accept the ruling of Heaven. I accept the judgment passed at Calvary. I accept the life given to me through Christ."
When you hold the Bread and the Cup, you are holding legal evidence. As such, Communion is deeply personal. The Bread touches your body. The Cup touches your lips.
It is a Covenant that enters you, nourishes you, strengthens and aligns you with the finished work of Christ.
Jesus said (John 6:53) “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” He was speaking of receiving Him completely. His Life. His Sacrifice. His Nature. His Covenant. Communion is the believer stepping into agreement with what Christ’s Body and Blood have already accomplished.
(1 Corinthians 10:14) "Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.”
(Acts 2:46) "And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts…”
Communion, therefore, releases what the Cross provided, the moment faith meets Matthew 8:17, “...He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.” And Hebrews 10:22 "let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Let's pray, "Heavenly Father, open my heart and mind to fully grasp the significance of Communion. Help me to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the love it represents. Grant me wisdom and understanding to appreciate this sacred act, so that it may strengthen my faith and connection with You." Amen!
