(Luke 22:19) "And He (Jesus) took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper, He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.”
In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings that Jesus left us to follow. The thirteenth commandment leads us to our next focus: COMMUNION.
I can't wait to share Part 1 of my wife's revelation with you...
"I've come to realise that the true essence of Communion has been overshadowed by routine and diluted over many generations. Communion is not symbolic, or even ritualistic. It is not a quiet religious moment added into a service. Communion is an ‘action’ enforcing what Christ accomplished for us. 1 Corinthians 11:29 is often quoted in a service, "For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died…” This is a failure to discern revelation - the release point of Divine Strength.
The bread: Points to ‘contact’ with the Body of Christ
The blood: Brings us back to the New Covenant, which was ’sealed’ with the Blood of Christ.
Scripture clarifies this: (Isaiah 53:5) “He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. (1 Peter 2:24) "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are healed.”
As such, when you hold the bread you have in your hand, the finished work of redemption - it is not a hope - IT IS A FACT! Communion is not hoping for healing but the ‘participation’ in your healing!
As to the Cup - the Cup of His Blood, removed sin, silenced the accuser - (Hebrews 9:12) "But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.”
So, when you drink from the Cup, you are not asking for forgiveness but acknowledging the forgiveness already purchased for you.
(1 Corinthians 11:29) "For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.”
"Not discerning the Lord’s Body …" Communion can be dangerous if you receive it without Revelation, as it forfeits Power!
BREAD: GOD’s Healing Medicine
CUP: GOD’s Righteousness applied
Communion enforces healing in your body and strength in your inner man!
Communion is not passive - it is active, and through the application in our lives, believers participate in the exchange that took place at Calvary.
Body: Healing
Blood: Righteousness.
Every Covenant ever made required a physical sign”
Rainbow - For Noah (Genesis 9:12)
Circumcision - Abraham
Blood Covenant - Abraham (Genesis 15:6/17)
Blood on the doorposts - Israel (Exodus 12:7)
Communion is the sign of the New Covenant - but not on your skin, or your door. This sign is taken into your body.
Communion is the believer saying, “I accept the exchange!”
(1 Corinthians 11:26), "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.”

Let's pray, "Heavenly Father, open my heart and mind to fully grasp the significance of Communion. Help me to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the love it represents. Grant me wisdom and understanding to appreciate this sacred act, so that it may strengthen my faith and connection with You." Amen!
