Fools are famous for repeating their errors, like dogs are known to return to their vomit. There’s only one thing worse than a fool, and that’s the smug, conceited man always in love with his own opinions. (Pro 26:11)
I saw this and needed to consult Google: "As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool repeats his folly. … It means that fools are stubbornly inflexible and this is illustrated with the repulsive simile of the dog that eats its vomit again, even though this may be poisonous."
So, Who or What can break our foolish, toxic and harmful habits – be they mental, physical or spiritual...?
(Jesus speaking) “The words I have spoken over you have already cleansed you. So you must remain in life-union with me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to mine.” (John 15:3)
As such, the bottom-line choice remains for all of us: Self-gratification – or True Freedom.
On the plus side, we might be so far down the pipe that we can no longer realistically even choose - but the GOD of ALL knows that – cry out to Him, let His Word cleanse you and TURN YOU AROUND. +++++
