(Matthew 28:19) [Jesus speaking] "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

In this series, we're delving deeper into the teachings that Jesus left us to follow. The fifth commandment leads us to our next focus: BAPTISM ...

Like all of Jesus' teachings on behavioural change, the waters of baptism reach both the shallow shores of the heart as well as the profound depths of the spirit.

Before we read some of your testimonies, let's revisit the Baptismal Experience itself.

A Feeling of Freedom and Empowerment
We've established that many of us express a profound sense of freedom and empowerment through the Baptismal process, as if a weight has been lifted from our shoulders. We feel our lives are now 'properly' intertwined with a purpose that extends beyond our personal existence, connecting us to GOD the Holy Spirit, not just in words, but in a much greater and more meaningful way. This newfound awareness brings about a deep sense of fulfilment and belonging, as we perceive our actions and experiences contributing to a larger, more significant walk of life.

A Blend of Emotions
While the overall experience is joyful primarily, it also includes gentle moments of reflection and thoughtful contemplation. It is seen as a meaningful expression of faith, gently removing internal barriers while allowing for free spiritual growth. This path is not just about joy but also includes gentle contemplation on beliefs and values, opening the heart and mind to new avenues for growth and understanding in a previously unknown spiritual sense.

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, I thank You that I have been given a new identity in Christ and that You have made me a new creation. I ask for the transformation of Baptism into Jesus, so that I may become more like Him. Help me to seek to let go of past mistakes and embrace His forgiveness. Help me to trust in Your truth and wisdom, and Your perfecting work for a future filled with Your freedom and grace." Amen!
