I have shared many times on this blog just how The Lord has come through for me, and the question we all get asked the most is, "What does it actually mean to have Faith in Jesus...?"
So, to me, having faith in Jesus typically means allowing Him into my heart and life enough to trust in His Love for me (John 15:9). Depending on His teachings (Matthew 7:24), believing in His role as my Redeemer (1 Peter 1:18) and Saviour (Luke 2:11, John 3:16, 1 John 4:14), and relying on His daily guidance in my life through the Holy Spirit (John 14). Practically, this can manifest in several ways:
- Belief in Salvation: Knowing Him enough to trust that His sacrifice provides forgiveness and eternal life.
- Following His Teachings: Living according to the principles and values Jesus taught, such as love, compassion - and forgiveness.
- Prayer and Worship: Engaging in regular prayer and worship as a way to connect and enjoy a two-way communication with GOD.
- Community Involvement: Participating in a faith community for support, growth - and service to others.
- Personal Transformation: Using my faith in Jesus to inspire personal growth, ethical decisions, and a sense of purpose - in others!
- Hope and Trust: Relying on my faith in Jesus to know what's best for me, for comfort and strength during difficult times, trusting that He is ever present and active in my life - regardless of what the circumstances say!
