One day he (Jesus) was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said, “Master, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”

So he said, “Father, Reveal who you are to us, both to us and to all we meet today. Move in love and freedom through us to set the world right. Open and change our hearts to see how and why others have need of forgiveness, not judgement. Keep us safe from our selfish demands and listening to the devil’s ideas.” (Luke‬ ‭11:1)

When the Scripture we know as ‘the Lord’s prayer’ is written down as ‘normal’ as this one is, then the prayer takes on a whole new dimension.

Father, Reveal who you are to us, both to us and to all we meet today.

Move in love and freedom through us to set the world right.

Open and change our hearts to see how and why others have need of forgiveness, not judgement.

Keep us safe from our selfish demands and listening to the devil’s ideas.
