(1 John 3:21) "Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God"

This next series is about how GOD wants to deal with the "sin that so easily besets us" (Hebrews 12:1) and how He will help us come out from under the enslavement of it through His Son, Jesus.

Our sister Jo sent this in response to yesterday's message... which one of you has the next part in the process?

"I believe the 'cancer' you wrote about is caused when two things procreate. One of them is 'certainty'. As soon as we are 'certain' that we know God’s actions, thoughts, and judgments on something, we then believe we have a right to judge others on their 'certainties!' That means that when we become 'certain' that we have worked out what God thinks, then this certainty becomes a force, a power, a weapon! So, should we give up seeking what God wants? No! We should always continue to seek what the Psalmist claims is God’s 'new thing'. We know God "is and was and is to come…." We know He is the same God "yesterday, today, and forever." We know His ways are perfect, BUT… We also know God is Love. Therefore, if our brothers and sisters think something differently from us, then we must pray for them (in love). Not that they would change their views, but that God would somehow unite us. If we use certainty as a right, it becomes a power, becomes judgment… then who is the sinner? Jesus said, “A new commandment I give you… "Love one another as I have loved you” Show me someone Jesus hated, and I will understand why some Christians believe it's OK to exclude others. Yes, Jesus hated sin, but he knew this was a consequence of being human in a fallen world, and so He told us to love and love and love.
The second cancer is 'hate.' I’ve noticed recently that rather than being a slowly growing mass, hatred is more like a blood cancer—quickly filtering through the cells of our body, travelling to every extremity through fast-flowing channels, being pumped invisibly around the body. Where certainty and hatred mix, there will always be divides, and there will ultimately be death. In the body of the Church, we must all understand that no one is certain except God Himself. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In humility, we can offer our thoughts, knowing that at any moment God may reveal “a new thing” to us—it doesn’t mean he has changed. It means we are now ready to hear the next level of love He wants to take us to. (Deuteronomy 29:29) “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."
So to be free of the cancer, we must: understand that “God’s ways are not our ways” and “love one another as Jesus loved us.” Not with power, but as Jesus did—on his knees and with a towel. Not with money—but with healing in mysterious ways. Not with certainty—but with a trust in His Father so deep that he was even prepared to die because He believed that he was loved.
Remember, Jesus was just like us before he rose again—and yet was without sin... Jo xxx

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, we thank You for being the source of all peace and the one true reality. We pray for a deeper union with You, that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, may fill our hearts and minds. Help us to turn away from worldly worries and find solace and guidance in Your presence, so that our lives may be a reflection of Your love and tranquillity to others." Amen!
