(Matthew 5:43) "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

Carrying on from yesterday's post. Our brother David Fraser has already responded, "Evil people are simply people being driven by evil spiritual influences.

(As Jesus told us), "The enemy comes to try to steal, kill, and destroy." But Jesus comes to establish His Kingdom, and He calls us to be ambassadors and enforcers of that peace."

And so, in the light of those perfect truths, we move onto the second part:

Responding with Grace: When confronted with hatred, such as during his trial and crucifixion, Jesus responded with Grace rather than retaliation. He forgave even those who were putting him to death, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" (Luke 23:34).

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, we come before You, inspired by Jesus’ example of intercession. Just as He prayed on behalf of those responsible for His crucifixion, we ask for the strength to intercede for others - even those who have harmed us. Lord, grant us the grace to offer unconditional forgiveness, just as Jesus did, despite the pain and injustice we may face. Help us to remember that many who hurt us do so out of ignorance, not malice. Teach us to embody His radical love, following the pattern He set for us in forgiving others, even when it’s difficult. May we reflect the spirit of Christ in our hearts, choosing forgiveness over retaliation." Amen!
