(Jesus speaking) “To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst.”

“When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person.” (‭Luke‬ ‭6:27)

Another version begins this scripture with: “To you who are willing to listen …”

This got me thinking. Do I give more credence to 'my' rights or my willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit?

Most of us have learned the secret of living an easy life - all you have to do is keep your opinions to yourself (even though you're desperate inside to point out their errors of judgment - not to mention the subsequent pitfalls).

Smile a lot (even though you're screaming inside at what they're actually proposing).

And for the sake of not rocking the boat, generally go along with the lemming crowd (even though you seem to be the only one who's noticed the fast-approaching drop off the cliff face...)!

How about rather than dismissing them as 'ding-dongs,' we "... respond with the energies of prayer for that person?"

Please, Lord, (I'm preaching to myself here.) 'I' need some help here …! ❤️
