Oh, the tantrums I’ve had when I didn’t get my own way! The dummies I’ve lost by spitting them out, the toys I’ve ruined by throwing them out of my pram, the headaches I've suffered through banging my head on the bars of my cot - not to mention the people I’ve hurt ...!

Jesus sensed that his disciples were having a hard time with his statement and said, “Does this throw you completely? … The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen."

"Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making. But some of you are resisting, refusing to have any part in this.” … “This is why I told you earlier that no one is capable of coming to me on his own. You get to me only as a gift from the Father.” (John‬ ‭6:61)

Father, help me to hold onto your gift, hang on to your Truths ... your Love ... your Son Jesus.
