(James 4:8) "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you…"
Colin Urquhart's lovely daughter, Andrea, just posted about "a return to intimacy with God" that I couldn’t resist sharing.
"The anniversary of my Dad's passing comes as I launch the Strengthen Inner Fire Challenge & App. It also comes in a week where a fresh resolve and fire have been lit in me to keep rising up and speak about inner story truths and topics that might be uncomfortable to hear for some. I realise that some people cannot handle that discomfort because of the questions it raises. But for many others, it's life-giving and allows the safety (professionally held too) to explore, grow, heal and be strengthened. And oh, we need so much more of that in the global church!
At the heart of everything I do with Christians is a return to intimacy with God. Much of the coaching work with Christians involves decluttering to enable them to truly strengthen and grow. We bust some myths and return to uncover clarity - about wellbeing, emotional health, purpose, and what a healthy inner story and walk with God looks like. And that in turn gives us perspective about our life, how we live and what we're growing.
I know my work and life may not look like what others might "expect" or hold as their ideal... I don't fit into traditional boxes, but I know that I am walking in the legacy passed down to me with integrity. And I see the beautiful fruit in the lives of those I'm privileged to work with..."

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging the above promise, that if I 'draw near to You, You will draw near to me'. Lord, You can see my heart, that I desire to draw closer to You, to experience Your presence and love in my life. I admit my heart has sometimes been double-minded, with my loyalty divided between Your ways and the things of the world. Today, I choose to submit myself to You completely. I want to wash my hands of the 'sin that so easily besets us,’ (Hebrews 12:11) and ask You to purify my heart from divided loyalties. I choose to turn away from anything that pulls me away from Your will. Help me to align my actions and motives with Your truth. Thank You for Your promise that as I draw near to You, You will draw near to me." Amen!
