(John 6:66) ”... After this, many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?”
There was a young couple whose first baby was born with severe eczema. They prayed and prayed, and as the husband had to work, she would often stay up all night ministering to the baby. The husband supported his wife as best he could; he kept praying, but in his wife's exhausted eyes, he had an escape route at work.
One night, as the baby screamed in pain, the young mother exploded in anger and frustration, "None of this prayer stuff is working she screamed. Just admit it! We need to accept it and move on." He was tired of all the arguing, and so he accepted that prayer wasn't working and that they needed to move on somehow.
The next day, which was a Sunday, they awoke to find the baby was twice as bad as before! They went to Church, and the Pastor preached that morning on the above Scripture and told everyone that the devil will do anything he can to wear us down, whereas GOD only wants us to accept that we need Him. He asked everyone to review their actions to see if they, too, had abandoned their faith in Him.
People everywhere responded. They prayed for each other, and that very day, they saw the little baby girl receive her healing.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times when I quit believing. Even though I mentally acknowledge the difficulty and cost of following Jesus, help me not to just confess that Jesus alone offers eternal life, but to hold onto Your hand and remain faithful, like Peter did." Amen!
