(Matthew 11:29) [Jesus speaking] "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
A man asks the Lord, “Why must I carry a yoke at all?”
The Lord responds,
“The yoke 'you' want to carry consists of the 'stuff' you cling to—attachments to the world that weigh heavily on your soul.”
"The yoke I asked you to pick up is 'your cross,' and if you would only listen, then you’d realise that this cross is far lighter than everything you’ve chosen to benefit you in the world!"
"It’s actually much easier to deny yourself and follow Jesus than it is to remain in a world that robs you of your peace and leaves you feeling unworthy."
If only we understood that the world doesn’t care about us, but GOD does. That’s why Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
What do we do when we feel like we can’t go on? Scripture encourages believers to support one another, as highlighted in Galatians 6:2: "Bear one another's burdens... and fulfil the law of Christ."
Jesus took on the weight of human sin by dying on the cross, providing help through the Holy Spirit and through the love of fellow Christians who assist in carrying each other’s burdens.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank you for the promise of rest in You. Help me to embrace the meek and humble heart of my Lord Jesus, letting Your gentle Holy Spirit guide me so that I may discover true rest and peace for my soul, even as I lay down my yoke and carry Your light and easy cross." Amen!
