(Matthew 16:22) "...a Canaanite woman came down from the hills and pleaded, “Mercy, Master, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly afflicted by an evil spirit.” Jesus ignored her. The disciples came and complained, “Now she’s bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She’s driving us crazy.” Jesus refused, telling them, “I’ve got my hands full dealing with the lost sheep of Israel.” Then the woman came back to Jesus, dropped to her knees, and begged. “Master, help me.” He said, “It’s not right to take bread out of children’s mouths and throw it to dogs.” She was quick: “You’re right, Master, but beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table.” Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then, her daughter became well."

This message builds beautifully on yesterday's... so, just as beggar dogs rely on the master's generosity for food, Christians should recognise that they are to solely rely on GOD's Grace and provision for their spiritual nourishment and needs.

(a) Can we (will we) trust Him and sit in humility and dependence on our Lord?
(1 Peter 5:6)"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

(b) Can we (will we) trust Him and accept that even in our physical or intellectual disability, there is the promise of GOD's Love and Mercy.
(2 Corinthians 12:9)"...My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

(c) Can we (will we) trust Him and sit bravely in acknowledgement of our needy status and patiently seek Jesus’ help.
(2 Samuel 9) Mephibosheth (The son of Jonathan)
(Mark 10:46) The Blind Man (Bartimaeus)
(John 9) The Man Born Blind
(Mark 5:25) The Woman with the Issue of Blood
(Mark 2:1) The Paralysed Man

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, help me to recognise and trust your plan, even when it involves suffering, and to resist the temptation to set my own human concerns above your Divine Will. May I always seek to follow you, never fearing to 'take up my cross' as you commanded." Amen!
