(John 10:27) "My sheep hear my voice..."
What our sister said yesterday confirms that the most significant challenge we all face as children of the Living GOD isn't just about continually 'doing the right thing in the face of so much opposition,' but it's mostly about 'listening for and adhering to His Voice' - especially in the quiet times...!
And as we all travel this barren wilderness, it seems that the quiet times are steadily increasing, provoking us to constantly ask, "Now what do I do or say, Lord?"
I'm reminded of a man that I knew. He'd ministered faithfully at a particular church but hadn't been treated very well, and he and his wife wanted to go back to where they had come from and start again. Finally, when he and his wife were dining with someone, this person suggested that they pray together before they all left. He then said, "I sense the Spirit is telling me that you need to leave where you are and return to where you came from!"
The wife was ecstatic, and so, they quit everything and left. Many things went wrong for them after that, and when my friend finally got serious and questioned the Lord, He said, "You decided to listen to a spirit that confirmed 'your' will, not Mine!"
In effect, He couldn't bless a path for them that He hadn't chosen. (Jer 29:11)

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that we do hear Your voice, and You know us by name. Help me to be one of Your faithful children, taking comfort in Your close presence, and hearing Your voice clearly amidst the noise of the world, and to know Your love for me. Grant me the strength and courage to hear and follow You always." Amen!
