(Psalm 119:105) “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."

  1. Scripture: The Bible is considered the primary source of GOD's Word and guidance.

Aim: The purpose is to inspire you to absorb GOD's Word—not just read it as a book—but to treat it as a source of spiritual nourishment, offering a continuous stream of meaningful engagement within the ever-evolving life it holds. As you delve deeper, your Bible will transform into a personal diary of your spiritual experiences, with passages highlighted that speak to you during different life moments, struggles, or realisations.

An example: "The Bible reveals what God says about Himself, and the Holy Spirit makes God's knowledge known to us. For me, a Rhema word is crucial—it's a personal message from God, often received through prayer or scripture, providing guidance and encouragement. Whenever I'm seeking wisdom, I find it in my Bible; in fact, I often find the exact passage I need for my situation, which emphasises that God speaks intentionally. Sometimes, a scripture stands out, delivering God's message and conviction. Recently, I found I was chatting a lot with a married man at work, and Scripture highlighted the commandment against adultery and coveting, highlighting how the Holy Spirit convicts through God's Word. NB - A "Rhema word" refers to a specific, personal message from God to an individual, often received through prayer, scripture, or spiritual insight. Unlike "Logos," which denotes the general Word of God or the Bible as a whole, a Rhema word is timely and relevant to a particular situation or need. It's seen as a direct and personal communication that provides guidance, encouragement, or confirmation.

An example: God convicts through his word, and He always speaks to us intentionally, not randomly! Many times, I have seen that a passage of scripture will almost 'jump out' at a person, so that it is received as God's word. Many times, when seeking wisdom or guidance, I've opened my Bible and found precisely the passage I needed to shed light on my situation.
It's important to recognise how God communicates with us. For a start, He never speaks negatively. Recently, I heard from Satan, saying, "You're never getting out of this one, Sally. You've blown it!" I told him to get lost! How did I know it wasn't God? Because God never contradicts His Word! His mercy is new every day, and if we confess our sins, He forgives us. So, if someone claims God told them to divorce, we know it's not true, as God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi. (Sally Ann)

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, guide me in how to absorb Your Word as a source of spiritual nourishment. May it become a living diary of my journey, with passages that speak to me through life's moments and challenges." Amen!
